Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
This medication is used to adequately control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to treat with monotherapy using either S-Amlodipine (Amlodipine) or Olmesartan Medoxomil. It helps protect heart and vascular health and lowers the risk of complications through blood pressure management. Regular use can aid in blood pressure control and improve health.
This medication is taken once daily, one tablet, with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended doses are as follows: - 2.5/20 milligrams: for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy using S-Amlodipine 2.5 milligrams or Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 milligrams. - 2.5/40 milligrams: for patients not adequately controlled at 2.5/20 milligrams
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established.

Those allergic to any components of this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe liver impairment or certain heart conditions, and patients undergoing renal dialysis should not take it. Patients with fluid or salt deficiency may experience hypotension, so their condition must be carefully monitored during initial doses, and appropriate measures should be taken if hypotension occurs. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, indigestion, and skin rash can occur while taking this medication, and if symptoms are severe, consulting a healthcare professional is necessary. This medication can interact with other antihypertensive drugs or certain medications, so any drugs being taken must be disclosed. Particularly, co-administration with grapefruit juice can cause excessive blood pressure-lowering effects and should be avoided. It poses risks to the fetus during pregnancy, so if pregnancy is planned or confirmed, discontinuation and a consultation with a physician are advised. For breastfeeding mothers, since this drug can be transmitted through breast milk potentially causing side effects in infants, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding or discontinue the medication. It is advisable not to administer this drug to children under 18 years as safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients should start at a lower dose and be monitored closely due to potential decline in liver and kidney function. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension and vascular dilation may lead to tachycardia or decreased cardiac function, and immediate medical treatment is required. This medication should be stored away from direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of children.
