This medication helps improve symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis and duodenitis, as well as gastrointestinal dysfunction symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting. It is also effective in alleviating symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is used to improve habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal transit disorders, such as constipation or diarrhea. It is used effectively to treat a variety of digestive disease symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As Trimebutine Maleate, 100-200 mg per dose taken orally three times a day before meals.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be taken by individuals who are unable to properly digest lactose. It may be harmful to patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal-related symptoms such as occasional constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, thirst, or a numb feeling in the mouth may occur. Additionally, rare symptoms such as palpitations, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may also occur. There have been rare reports of elevated liver enzyme levels associated with liver function. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes may develop, and if such symptoms occur, discontinuation of the medication is necessary. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not clearly established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use it if the benefits outweigh the risks. Nursing women should also avoid this medication if possible, and if it is necessary to take it, it is advisable to stop breastfeeding.
