Effective as a laxative for bowel examination and surgery preparation
This medication is used to clean the bowel prior to colon X-ray or colonoscopy procedures, as well as surgeries. It aids in the removal of intestinal contents to facilitate examination or prepare for surgery.
Dissolve 1 pouch of this medication in one cup of water (approximately 150 mL) and stir well for 2-3 minutes. Take 1 prepared solution pouch before 8 AM on the day before the examination. An additional pouch of prepared solution should be taken 6-8 hours later.
Ages 1-2: Take 1/4 pouch in the morning and 1/4 pouch in the afternoon on the day before the examination. Ages 2-4: Take 1/2 pouch in the morning and 1/2 pouch in the afternoon on the day before the examination. Ages 4-9: Take 1 pouch in the morning on the day before the examination.
This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which may pose a risk to individuals with phenylketonuria, a genetic disorder. Patients with allergies to this medication, compromised heart function, gastrointestinal issues, or in a state of dehydration should not use it. Patients who have recently undergone gastrointestinal surgery or have kidney or heart diseases, and those taking certain medications should use this drug with caution. Side effects such as headaches, nausea, diarrhea, and skin rash may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Use of this drug before colon surgery should be approached with caution, and long-term use requires attention to fluid and electrolyte balance. This medication may affect the absorption of other oral medications, so be cautious about interactions with concurrent drugs. Its use during pregnancy is not recommended, and breastfeeding individuals should consult their doctor before use. Overdosing may lead to severe diarrhea, necessitating adequate fluid intake and appropriate treatment. It is advisable to dissolve this drug in water and consume it at a suitable temperature; use it immediately after opening and dispose of any remaining medication. Store this drug in a tightly sealed container, out of reach of children, and protect it from moisture and humidity.
