This medication is used to treat vaginitis caused by various bacteria such as Haemophilus species, Gardnerella species, non-specific bacteria, Corynebacterium, and anaerobic bacteria. It is administered in injection form to effectively improve bacterial infections.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Injection: After cleansing the affected area, apply a thin layer over the entire affected part twice a day (morning and evening) and rub in. For bacterial vaginosis: Administer approximately 5g using a syringe into the vagina 1-2 times a day for 5 days. If using once a day, apply at bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, patients who have had an allergic reaction to this drug, its components, or similar classes of drugs, nursing women, children, and patients who have taken disulfiram within the last two weeks should avoid using this medication. Patients with severely impaired liver function, central nervous system disorders, blood-related issues, and those allergic to any of the components of this medication should use it with caution. Various side effects such as skin rash, itching, dryness of the mouth or skin, digestive discomfort, headache, dizziness, and urination problems may occur while using this drug, so if these symptoms occur, the use should be stopped immediately, and a physician should be consulted. This drug can affect the nervous system, so treatment should be discontinued promptly if abnormal neurological symptoms appear. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid sexual intercourse while using this medication, and care should be taken to prevent the affected area from being exposed to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet light. Taking alcoholic beverages or medications that contain alcohol while using this medication can lead to severe side effects, so alcohol should be avoided during treatment. In particular, patients taking medications that affect blood clotting should have regular blood tests as the risk of bleeding can increase when using this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should proceed with caution when using this drug, after consulting with a physician, and nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication. It is generally advised not to use this medication in children due to the lack of established safety and efficacy. This medication is for external use only and should be kept away from the eyes; if it comes into contact with the eyes, they should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water immediately.
