Precautions

When cutting the container of this ampoule injection, glass fragments may mix in, so extreme care must be taken to prevent glass shards from entering during use. Special attention is needed when administered to children or the elderly. This medication should not be administered to patients with hemophilia. If symptoms of hypertension occur, administration of this medication should be discontinued; therefore, patients with hypertension should use it cautiously. This medication may cause allergic reactions such as itching, red spots on the skin, or hives, and in rare cases, gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea may occur. Additionally, using this medication after administering certain muscle relaxants may cause respiratory distress, so caution is necessary. Blood pressure may be slightly lowered, and elderly individuals may exhibit mild excitement. This medication should not be administered intravenously as a standalone injection and should ideally be administered with a gap of 12 hours after the use of parasympathomimetics and 1 hour after the use of certain muscle relaxants. Allergic reactions have been rarely reported when used in combination with antibiotics, anesthetics, and barbiturate drugs, so care should be taken when combined. For women, caution is needed as this medication may prolong the effects of certain muscle relaxants. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this medication when the benefits outweigh the risks. The safety for pediatric use has not yet been adequately confirmed. This medication may not be effective in patients with hypokalemia or mechanical intestinal obstruction.
