Precautions

This medication contains the ingredient α-lipoic acid, and should not be administered to patients allergic to this ingredient or any excipients in the drug. Additionally, since there have been no clinical trials targeting children and adolescents, it is advisable not to use it in children and adolescents. During use, gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may rarely occur. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes, hives, and itching may occur, and caution is needed if these symptoms appear. This medication may lower blood sugar levels, potentially causing hypoglycemic symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, headaches, and vision problems, so patients who require blood sugar control should exercise caution. Occasionally, taste disturbances may occur, so please keep this in mind. It is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as alcohol can worsen nerve damage and diminish the therapeutic effect of the drug. Moreover, taking this medication with the specific anticancer drug cisplatin may reduce the effectiveness of cisplatin, so it is preferable not to take them together. If taken simultaneously with medications containing iron or magnesium, or calcium-rich foods such as milk, absorption of the drug may decrease; therefore, dosing times should be adjusted. When taken with insulin or other hypoglycemic agents, blood sugar may drop too low, so blood sugar should be frequently monitored, and the medication dosage adjusted if necessary. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with a doctor before taking this medication, as its safety has not been fully established. In case of overdose, serious intoxication symptoms may appear; if suspected, you should go to the hospital immediately for proper treatment. This medication should not be stored at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, and should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children. Additionally, transferring the medication to other containers is not recommended due to the potential for quality degradation or accidental risks.
