Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredient or similar substances, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe liver disease, aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, those undergoing renal dialysis, patients in shock, or specific types of diabetic patients. Patients with hypotension who are deficient in fluid or salt may experience symptoms of low blood pressure upon initial dosing; close observation of their condition is necessary, and appropriate actions should be taken if hypotension occurs. Severe dilation of blood vessels can lead to hypotension, so caution is especially required for aortic stenosis patients during dosing. Patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease may have an increased risk of angina or myocardial infarction after taking this medication, so it should be used with caution. The use of this medication is generally safe in patients with congestive heart failure, but care should be taken according to the condition. Patients with reduced kidney function should have regular tests, as this medication may impact kidney function. Patients with impaired liver function should also exercise caution while taking this medication. Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, nausea, rash, among others, and any abnormal symptoms should be discussed with healthcare professionals. During pregnancy, there is a special risk to the fetus; thus, anyone planning for pregnancy or who is pregnant must consult with a healthcare professional. Breastfeeding mothers should consider discontinuing breastfeeding or the medication due to its potential transfer into breast milk. The safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established and are therefore not recommended. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney and liver function, so treatment should start at a low dose, and their condition should be closely observed. In case of overdose, low blood pressure and cardiac rhythm abnormalities may occur; if suspected, immediate medical evaluation is essential. Store the medication out of reach of children, and avoid direct sunlight and moisture during storage.
