Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with certain skin infections. If there are skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals, symptoms may worsen. Patients allergic to this medication or with a history of hypersensitivity should also avoid using it. In patients with perforated eardrums, this medication may delay wound healing and should not be administered. For patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, it is also advisable not to use this medication as skin healing may be delayed. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, or itching around the anus and genitals, or to infants under 2 years old. In women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children, and elderly individuals, careful administration is required. Caution is also necessary for those allergic to propylene glycol, which is included in this medication. Usage of this medication may lead to skin infections, and various skin side effects such as skin irritation, rashes, itching, and skin dryness may occur. With long-term use, steroid-related side effects such as skin thinning or dilation of blood vessels may occur, necessitating a gradual reduction in dosage or switching to another medication. Additionally, using it over extensive areas for a long period may lead to side effects similar to systemic corticosteroids, thus requiring regular monitoring. When using it around the eyes, caution should be taken due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, and if visual disturbances such as blurred vision occur, it should be consulted with a specialist immediately. It is generally not used in the presence of eczema or dermatitis with concurrent skin infection, but if used, it is advisable to use it in conjunction with antibiotics or antifungals. Once symptoms improve, it is important to discontinue use as soon as possible, and if symptoms worsen, use should be stopped immediately. In pregnant or nursing women, safety of this medication has not been established, and it should only be used minimally if necessary. Children have a greater risk of side effects due to a larger body surface area relative to their weight, so usage should not exceed three weeks. Elderly individuals are also prone to side effects, so careful observation is necessary for long-term or extensive use. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes, and should not be used for non-treatment purposes such as after makeup or shaving. When using occlusive dressings, it must be done under medical supervision after properly cleaning the affected area and should be stored out of reach of children.
