Precautions

Adequate hydration is essential when treating acute diarrhea with this medication. Particularly for children over 24 months, hydration should be managed considering the overall health status. Hydration is primarily achieved through oral rehydration solutions, and it is important to appropriately balance the concentrations of sodium, potassium, chloride, and glucose during this process. Children should frequently consume oral rehydration solutions every 15 minutes, and if there is weight loss due to diarrhea, a sufficient amount of fluid should be provided based on their weight. If diarrhea worsens or vomiting persists, consult a specialist to determine the appropriate means of fluid replacement. In cases of infectious diarrhea, appropriate treatments such as antibiotics should be administered to prevent the spread of infection. If serious skin reactions such as rash or angioedema occur while using this medication, use should be discontinued immediately, and alternative treatment should be sought. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or angioedema should be especially cautious when using this medication. This medication contains sugar (sucrose) and should not be administered to patients with fructose malabsorption or certain enzyme deficiencies. Serious skin reactions may occur, so skin conditions should be monitored carefully, and if adverse symptoms arise, dosing should be stopped immediately. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants under 3 months, patients with impaired kidney or liver function, and those with diarrhea accompanied by blood or high fever should not use this medication. Diabetic patients should adjust their dosage considering the sugar content of this medication. Patients with diarrhea should avoid irritating foods such as fruits, spicy foods, and cold beverages, and continue breastfeeding as much as possible. This medication does not affect driving or machine operation; however, caution should be taken if any adverse reactions occur during use. Additionally, when taken with certain antihypertensive medications, the risk of angioedema may increase, so consultation with a healthcare professional is advised. Overdose may lead to constipation, so the prescribed dosage and administration should be adhered to.
