This medication helps to remove bubbles that have formed in the intestine during gastric endoscopy. It also helps to eliminate intestinal gas for clearer X-ray results of the abdomen. It is used to alleviate symptoms such as abdominal distention and aerophagia caused by intestinal gas.

How to take

Adult dose

1. For gastric endoscopy, administer 40-80mg orally with about 10mL of water 15-40 minutes before the examination. 2. For abdominal X-ray examination, start from 3-4 days prior, taking 40-80mg three times a day after meals or between meals. 3. For improvement of abdominal symptoms due to intestinal gas, take 40-80mg three times a day after meals or at bedtime. Adjust accordingly based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener. Aspartame is broken down in the body into phenylalanine, so it should not be used by patients with phenylketonuria, a hereditary condition that requires restriction of phenylalanine intake. In addition, since a maximum daily intake of aspartame is established, precautions should be taken to not exceed the recommended dose while using this medication. The maximum daily dosage for adults is about 2.4g. This medication contains sodium metabisulfite, which may cause allergic reactions. Caution is advised, especially for asthma patients or individuals sensitive to sulfites, as there is a risk of severe allergic reactions or asthma attacks. During treatment, gastrointestinal side effects such as occasional loose stools, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, abdominal heaviness, and decreased appetite may occur. Rarely, headaches may also occur. This medication also contains sodium benzoate, which can cause mild irritation to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes, so caution is advised. Shake the bottle well before use to mix the contents evenly, and keep it out of reach of children. Additionally, to maintain the medication's effectiveness, it should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place.
