Precautions

This drug should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as some ingredients can cause uterine contractions and increase the risk of premature labor. Breastfeeding women are also advised against taking this medication, as some components may be transmitted through breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. Those with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders should avoid this drug, as it contains lactose which may cause issues. Individuals with high blood pressure or elderly patients, as well as those with heart or kidney problems, or edema, should definitely consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. It is also necessary to consult experts if one has a history of allergic reactions such as rashes or itching from medications, or if they have diarrhea symptoms or digestive weakness. Dosage and administration must be strictly followed, and it should not be taken with other antidiarrheal medications. When administering this medication to children, a guardian must supervise closely, and it should not be given to children under 5 years old. If urine output decreases, edema appears, or symptoms such as headaches or increased blood pressure occur during treatment, the medication should be discontinued immediately and consultation with a professional is required. With prolonged use, potassium levels in the blood should be monitored regularly, and if there are abnormalities, the medication should be stopped. If symptoms of muscle weakness or cramps appear, the use should be discontinued immediately. If symptoms such as dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea occur, stop taking the medication and consult a professional. Taking this drug with potassium supplements or certain diuretics may increase the risk of side effects, so caution is needed. Soft stools may result from taking the medication, but if it is accompanied by severe abdominal pain and diarrhea, it should be discontinued and professional advice sought. If symptoms do not improve within 1 to 2 months, discontinue use and consult a doctor or pharmacist. For prolonged use, consulting with a professional is also essential. The bowel movement-promoting effect of the rhubarb component varies between individuals, so the prescribed dosage and administration should be strictly adhered to. Stimulant laxatives should not be used continuously for more than a week, as tolerance may develop and constipation may worsen; if a laxative is needed daily, the cause should be identified. When taken with other herbal remedies, one should be cautious of ingredient duplication, especially when combined with preparations containing rhubarb. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a sealed container away from direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place. For quality maintenance, it is best not to transfer to another container.
