Efficacy & effects

Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

Amlodipine or Olmesartan Medoxomil is a medication used for controlling blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. Both medications help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. Amlodipine dilates blood vessels to lower blood pressure, while Olmesartan Medoxomil blocks the action of hormones that constrict blood vessels to regulate blood pressure. These medications can be used effectively to manage blood pressure when adequate control cannot be achieved through monotherapy. Thus, these medications are beneficial for the treatment of essential hypertension.
