This medication is used to effectively lower and control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily, with 1 tablet taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g. in the morning). The recommended doses are as follows: - 5/20 mg: for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 mg or olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg. - 10/20 mg: for patients not adequately controlled with monotherapy of olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, if pregnancy is confirmed, it must be discontinued immediately. Patients with allergies to this medication or those with severe issues related to the liver, kidneys, heart etc., as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women and patients with certain genetic lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients who are in a state of depletion of fluids or salt may experience hypotension when taking this medication, so their condition should be closely monitored. If hypotension occurs, appropriate treatment must be given. Since blood vessels can dilate and cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, patients with heart valve issues should be cautious. Patients with heart disease or heart failure should also take caution when using this medication, and patients with reduced kidney function may experience changes in kidney function requiring regular checks. Patients with diminished liver function should likewise take caution when using this medication. Side effects such as dizziness, headaches, swelling, digestive disorders, skin rashes may occur; if abnormal symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional. During pregnancy, this medication may pose risks to the fetus, so those planning to become pregnant or who are pregnant should consult a doctor. Breastfeeding women should also consider the potential effects on the infant, and it may be advisable to discontinue breastfeeding or the medication. This medication is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients may have a risk of reduced liver, kidney, and heart function, so it is advised to start with a low dose and to observe their condition carefully. In case of overdose, severe hypotension and vasodilation may occur, leading to the need for immediate medical attention.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme tiredness, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urine retention.
