Prevention of neuropathy induced by cisplatin
This medication is used to prevent neuropathic disorders that may occur during chemotherapy treatment with cisplatin or similar agents. These medications help protect the patient's nervous system health by reducing nerve damage. Therefore, it assists in lowering the risk of neurological disturbances.
For severe cases, administer 600-1200mg daily by intramuscular injection or intravenous drip. For treatment over several days or in mild cases, administer 300-600mg daily by intramuscular injection or intravenous drip.
This medication may rarely cause serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, so the patient's condition should be carefully monitored during administration. If symptoms such as facial pallor, drop in blood pressure, or irregular pulse occur, immediate cessation of use is necessary. Additionally, if hypersensitivity symptoms like skin rashes appear while using this medication, it is safe to discontinue administration. Gastrointestinal side effects such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur infrequently, so patients should consult healthcare professionals if these symptoms arise. This medication is in vial form and must be used immediately after dissolution, as the effectiveness of the medication may vary depending on storage conditions. Careful injection avoiding nerves or blood vessels is necessary when administering intramuscularly, and the injection site should be changed if administered repeatedly. Special attention should be given when administering to children or minors. This medication should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children, and transferring it into another container may compromise the quality or risk misuse; therefore, it must be stored in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
