Improvement of gastric ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions, relief of gastric acidity
This drug is used for ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, etc. It is also effective in preventing Mendelson's syndrome before surgery and treating ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) after surgery. It helps improve exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis, gastric mucosal lesions, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It can also be used to relieve symptoms such as excessive gastric acid, heartburn, and regurgitation. This medication is effective in treating various gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms.
As ranitidine, 150 mg orally twice a day, in the morning and at bedtime. 1) For gastric and duodenal ulcers: 150 mg orally twice a day or 300 mg once daily at bedtime. Especially for duodenal ulcer patients, 300 mg may be given twice a day, in the morning and at bedtime. 2) For gastroesophageal reflux disease: for 8 weeks, 150 mg orally twice a day.
In children aged 8 to 18 years, a single dose of 150 mg (2 mg per kg of body weight) can be administered up to twice a day.
This drug should not be used in patients with allergies to its components or a history of acute porphyria. In patients with impaired renal function, the concentration of this drug may increase, requiring dose adjustment, and caution should also be exercised in patients with decreased liver function. Patients with a history of drug allergic reactions or the elderly should be administered this drug with caution, especially when taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs concurrently. This drug may mask the symptoms of gastric cancer; therefore, in patients with gastric ulcers or new or changed dyspeptic symptoms in middle-aged or older individuals, it should be used only after confirming the malignancy. Patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori should also receive bacterial treatment. When using this medication, severe allergic reactions, blood disorders, liver dysfunction, heart problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, and neurological abnormalities may occur; therefore, symptoms should be monitored closely. Particularly, if dizziness or drowsiness occurs, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. This drug may interact with other medications, so healthcare professionals should be informed of concurrent medications, and specific intervals between certain medications should be observed. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should thoroughly consider the benefits and risks of using this drug. Safety in children has not been adequately established, so caution is required, and elderly patients may require dose adjustments due to decreased renal function. In cases of overdose, appropriate treatment such as vomiting or gastric lavage is necessary, and in severe cases, blood dialysis may be done to remove the drug. When storing this drug, keep it out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container. This drug may promote bacterial growth in the stomach by reducing acid secretion; therefore, regular monitoring, including ophthalmic examinations, is necessary during long-term use.
Urticaria, angioedema, rash, bronchospasm, hypotension, chest pain (severe allergic reaction suspected), anaphylactic shock, bone marrow suppression, aplastic anemia, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, acquired immune hemolytic anemia, jaundice, hepatitis, liver dysfunction, consciousness disorders, seizures, myoclonus, mental confusion, hallucinations, acute pancreatitis, rhabdomyolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Liel)

This drug should be stored in a sealed container that prevents light and kept in a dry place at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees. Storing it this way can help maintain the drug's efficacy for a longer time.
