Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive reflux esophagitis, symptoms) and treatment of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, as well as relief of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and esophagitis. It also helps in the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori. It is effective in alleviating upper gastrointestinal symptoms due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and for the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is also indicated for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy after prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. Overall, it is a medication used to improve various symptoms and complications of gastrointestinal diseases.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or are unresolved, an additional 4 weeks of treatment is recommended. Maintaining therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis: Administer 20 mg once daily. Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis: Once daily, 1 dose.
Adolescents aged 12 years and older: 1) Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or are unresolved, an additional 4 weeks of treatment is recommended.
This medication should not be used by patients with allergies to specific components or with a history of hypersensitivity. It should also not be administered to patients allergic to penicillin and macrolide antibiotics, patients taking certain heart-related medications, breastfeeding mothers, and patients with a history of myocardial infarction. This medication contains Yellow No. 5, which requires caution for those allergic to this component. Various adverse reactions such as headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rashes may occur; if symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Long-term use may lower magnesium levels, necessitating regular blood testing, and there is an increased risk of fractures, so caution is advised for osteoporosis patients. This medication can slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract by suppressing gastric acid secretion; notify a healthcare professional if diarrhea persists. Due to many drug interactions, especially when used with antiviral drugs, antibiotics, and anticoagulants, it is essential to consult a specialist and inform them of all medications being taken. Safety data regarding use during pregnancy is limited, so pregnant women should consult with a physician before taking it, and it is advisable not to use during breastfeeding. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so immediate medical attention should be sought, and it should be kept out of reach of children.
Hives, angioedema, anaphylaxis, shock, jaundice, hepatitis, hepatic failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), rhabdomyolysis.
Headache, dizziness, sensory disturbances, drowsiness, taste disorders, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, pancreatitis, increased liver enzymes, hepatitis, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, muscle weakness, interstitial nephritis, gynecomastia, asthenia, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea, allergic reactions, etc.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture from entering, and it is best preserved at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. By storing it this way, the medication's effectiveness can be maintained for a longer period.
