Precautions

This medication can irritate the mucous membranes of the stomach and esophagus, so individuals with upper gastrointestinal diseases should be particularly cautious. If there are issues with the esophagus or difficulty swallowing, discontinue taking this medication and consult a doctor. When taking the medication, it should be consumed with a sufficient amount of water, and one should not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. Continuing to take this medication after experiencing esophageal irritation symptoms may result in serious esophageal issues, so caution is required. Individuals with poor esophageal clearance, hypocalcemia, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with severe renal impairment should not take this medication. It is important to ensure adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, and if there are pre-existing hypocalcemia or bone metabolic disorders, treatment must be completed before taking this medication. There may be rare side effects such as osteonecrosis of the jaw, so attention should be paid to oral hygiene, and if dental treatment is needed, one should consult with a specialist. With prolonged use, rare atypical fractures such as thigh fractures may occur, so if experiencing leg pain, one should inform a doctor immediately. Taking this medication with other drugs, especially antacids or supplements containing calcium, magnesium, or iron, may interfere with the absorption of this medication, so dosing times should be adjusted. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers should not take this medication and should consult a doctor if necessary.
