Precautions

This medicine may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimester of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who are allergic to the active ingredients of this medicine or similar class medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with severe liver impairment or aortic stenosis, patients with biliary obstruction, those on renal dialysis, individuals in shock, and certain diabetic patients with renal impairment should not take this medicine. Caution is required for patients with low blood pressure due to inadequate fluid or sodium, as blood pressure may drop further upon initiation of this drug, and proper interventions should be obtained if blood pressure becomes too low. This medication may cause rapid vasodilation leading to hypotension. Therefore, patients with severe aortic stenosis should use this drug with caution. Patients with severe coronary artery disease should be cautious when initiating or adjusting the dose of this medication due to the risk of exacerbating angina or myocardial infarction. This medication should be used with caution in patients with heart failure, and those with impaired renal function should be closely monitored for changes in renal function during treatment. Patients with poor liver function should also exercise caution while taking this medication. While taking this medicine, side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, dyspepsia, and rash may occur. If any unusual symptoms arise, consult with a healthcare professional. Particularly, caution is needed if combined with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements, as this may raise serum potassium levels. Avoid taking this medication during pregnancy, and consult with a physician to switch to other treatments if pregnancy is planned or confirmed. For breastfeeding mothers, since this medication can be transmitted through breast milk and may affect infants, either breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication should be stopped. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been established in this population. Elderly patients should start at a lower dose due to the possibility of reduced renal and liver function and should be monitored closely. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop significantly and heart rate may increase; immediate medical attention is necessary.
