Precautions

This medication should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist for those who regularly consume more than three drinks a day. Frequent alcohol consumption may lead to gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, those with allergies to this medication or other salicylates, those with peptic ulcers, aspirin-induced asthma, hemophilia, severe liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction, or heart failure should not take it. Additionally, those taking methotrexate above a certain dose or pregnant women in the third trimester should not use this medication. This medication should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, liver impairment, heart function abnormalities, blood abnormalities, bronchial asthma, preoperative patients, children, patients with a history of allergies, the elderly, and those taking anticoagulants. Special caution is needed for patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency due to the risk of hemolytic anemia. Various adverse reactions may occur while taking this medication. For example, severe allergic reactions, asthma attacks, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, nausea, etc.), neurological symptoms (dizziness, headache), liver dysfunction, and kidney dysfunction may occur, requiring immediate cessation of use and consultation with healthcare professionals if symptoms appear. This medication should be used cautiously in children under 14 years of age who have chickenpox or influenza, as it may lead to a serious side effect called Reye's syndrome, so monitoring of the patient's condition after administration is essential. This medication is intended for the relief of simple symptoms; when used in chronic or acute conditions, regular examinations and consideration of alternative treatments should be undertaken. Patient statuses should be closely monitored during administration, and immediate action should be taken in case of adverse reactions, especially for children with high fevers or the elderly. Additionally, this medication may conceal infection symptoms, so it should be used cautiously with appropriate antibiotics if an infection is suspected. The risk of bleeding may increase before and after surgeries, so patients should inform healthcare professionals in advance if surgery is planned. Overdosing on this medication can lead to serious toxicity symptoms (hallucinations, seizures, coma, etc.), so strict adherence to dosage is necessary. Attention should also be paid to interactions with other medications. Particularly, the risk of bleeding or changes in medication efficacy may occur when taken with anticoagulants, thrombolytics, diabetes medications, methotrexate, lithium preparations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and digoxin, so consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. During pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, this medication should not be taken as it may seriously affect the fetus, and it is also advisable not to take it while breastfeeding, as it can be transferred through breast milk. For the elderly, adverse reactions may be more easily manifested, so starting with a small dose and administering cautiously is crucial. This enteric-coated medication should be taken with care to avoid damaging the enteric coating and should not be mixed with alkaline preparations. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children in its original container, and care should be taken when transferring it to other containers to avoid misuse or degradation of quality.
