This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it lowers the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in adults with risk factors for coronary heart disease and patients with type 2 diabetes. It also reduces the recurrence risk of various cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, stroke, angina, and congestive heart failure. This drug is also used to treat hyperlipidemia by effectively lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol, thus improving blood lipid status. It shows good efficacy in patients with dyslipidemia and familial hypercholesterolemia when used in conjunction with dietary therapy. Precautions
