Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, effective maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding from gastric ulcers.
This medicine is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive reflux esophagitis, and can also be used for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It is also helpful for alleviating symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease in patients without esophagitis. It is utilized in the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection. It is effective for the short-term treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and for the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers in patients requiring continued use. Additionally, it is used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and to prevent rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers through maintenance therapy. This medicine plays an important role in improving various gastrointestinal disorders.
This medicine should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy for preventing recurrence in patients with esophagitis: administer 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic therapy: administer 20 mg once daily, seek additional medical attention if symptoms are not controlled after 4 weeks. - If needed,

This medicine should not be administered to certain patients. It should not be used by individuals who are allergic or hypersensitive to this medicine or its components, or to benzimidazole derivatives. It should also not be used in patients who are allergic to penicillin-based or macrolide antibiotics used in conjunction with eradication of Helicobacter pylori. Patients on certain cardiac medications or antiviral drugs, as well as nursing women, should not take this medicine. Patients with a history of myocardial infarction should also avoid this medicine. This medicine may have various side effects, so caution is required. Reports of abnormal reactions have included blood-related issues, allergic reactions, electrolyte imbalances, psychological changes, neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal problems, liver function abnormalities, skin reactions, and more. In particular, if muscle pain or weakness occurs, it may indicate a serious condition called rhabdomyolysis, and immediate medical attention should be sought. While this medicine reduces gastric acid secretion and aids in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, long-term use may increase the risk of infection due to bacterial overgrowth in the stomach. Additionally, prolonged use may increase the risk of fractures, so patients with osteoporosis should have their bone density checked regularly. Serum magnesium levels may drop after more than three months of use, necessitating periodic testing. This medicine has many drug interactions, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist. Caution is particularly necessary when used in conjunction with anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, certain antidepressants, antiviral drugs, and antibiotics. There is insufficient data regarding the safety of this medicine during pregnancy, so pregnant women should use it cautiously after consulting with their physician. Nursing women are advised not to take this medicine. In cases of overdose, special antidotes are not available, so treatment must be symptomatic and general management is necessary. It should be kept out of the reach of children. Additionally, transferring the medicine to another container can lead to a decrease in quality or cause accidents, so caution should be exercised.
Hives, angioedema, anaphylaxis, shock, severe hypocalcemia due to hypomagnesemia, hypokalemia, fever, mental confusion, taste disturbances, jaundice, hepatitis, liver failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), muscle weakness, interstitial nephritis.

This medicine is susceptible to air and moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. The storage temperature should be maintained between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius, ideally at room temperature.
