Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredients or similar compounds, pregnant or nursing women, patients with severe liver disease, severe aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, renal dialysis, patients in shock, and patients with specific types of diabetes. Caution is needed when using this medication in hypotensive patients who are deficient in fluid or salt, as hypotension may occur; monitor their condition closely and take appropriate measures if hypotension occurs. Since blood vessels can dilate rapidly causing hypotension, particular caution should be exercised in patients with severe heart or vascular diseases. In patients with heart failure, this medication may affect heart function and should be used carefully; renal function changes should also be monitored in patients with reduced kidney function. Patients with impaired liver function should use this medication cautiously as its metabolism may be delayed. This medication may cause various side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, edema, nausea, and vomiting, so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with a physician. During pregnancy, this medication should be avoided to prevent fetal damage, and patients planning to become pregnant should consider switching to safer alternative treatments. Women who are breastfeeding should stop nursing or discontinuing the medication as it may pass into breast milk and affect the infant. It is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established. Elderly patients may experience a different effect due to decreased kidney and liver function; therefore, treatment should start with a lower dose and their condition should be monitored closely. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension or heart problems may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container, protected from direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of children, and should not be transferred to another container. Moreover, this medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or specific medications, so patients must inform their doctor or pharmacist of any other drugs they are using.
