Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with an allergy to any of the components, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those with severe liver disease, specific heart and kidney diseases, and certain diabetes patients should not take this medication. Caution is advised for hypotensive patients with a deficit of fluids or salt, as blood pressure may drop too low during initial dosing, necessitating careful monitoring of their condition. If hypotension occurs, appropriate action must be taken. Patients with aortic stenosis or severe heart disease should be closely monitored since rapid vasodilation may lead to hypotension. Patients with kidney disease or impaired kidney function should consult their healthcare provider before taking this medication, as it may impact kidney function. Patients with poor liver function should also use this medication with caution. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, dyspepsia, and edema may occur while taking this medication, and any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately. Particularly, blood potassium levels may rise, so caution is needed when taking this medication alongside other drugs that can affect potassium levels. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and if planning for or already pregnant, consultation with a healthcare provider is essential. While breastfeeding, this medication may pass into breast milk, possibly necessitating the cessation of breastfeeding or the medication itself. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years of age, so it is not recommended. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustments due to decreased kidney and liver function affecting the drug's efficacy. Overdose may lead to significantly lowered blood pressure and rapid heart rate, necessitating immediate medical assistance. This medication should be stored in a closed container away from moisture and heat, and out of reach of children.
