Efficacy & effects

Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

This medication helps patients with essential hypertension effectively control their blood pressure. If blood pressure control is insufficient when using escitalopram or olmesartan medoxomil alone, this treatment can be utilized to stably lower blood pressure. This leads to improved blood pressure management and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, it is actively used for the treatment of essential hypertension.

Taking this medication during pregnancy can cause serious side effects in the fetus, so it should not be used during pregnancy, and if planning to conceive, a doctor should be consulted. During breastfeeding, this medication may be transmitted through breast milk, so it is advisable to either discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the drug. Safety and efficacy have not been established for patients under 18 years of age, so it is not recommended. Elderly patients may have reduced renal and liver function, therefore should start from a low dose and be cautious during administration.
