This medication is used for inflammatory diseases of joints and surrounding tissues, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis), and adhesive capsulitis. It is also effective for the relief of pain, including toothache, inflammation due to trauma, lower back pain, and sciatica. It may help alleviate pain caused by non-articular rheumatism. It is used to improve various inflammatory and pain symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

For aceclofenac, take 100 mg orally every 12 hours, twice a day. Do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole. Adjust dosage as appropriate according to symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, administer at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume three or more alcoholic beverages per day; consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. It can increase risks related to the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems; therefore, patients with a history or risk factors for heart disease or cerebrovascular diseases should use it cautiously. Serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation may occur, so particular caution is needed for patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease or older adults. This medication should not be used in cases of active peptic ulceration or bleeding, allergies to this drug or similar medications, or in individuals with a history of asthma. This medication should be contraindicated or used cautiously in specific groups of patients including those with heart failure, heart disease, severe kidney or liver dysfunction, pregnant women in late pregnancy, and nursing mothers. If abnormal symptoms such as dizziness, skin rashes, or difficulty breathing occur while taking this medication, medical consultation should be sought immediately. There may be interactions with other drugs, so especially in cases where anticoagulants, diuretics, antihypertensives, hypoglycemic agents, etc., are being taken, it is essential to consult a doctor. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been established, so caution in use is needed.
