Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to its components or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. Since this medication contains lactose, it should also not be taken by patients with genetic disorders that cause lactose intolerance. During the course of treatment, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur; if symptoms appear, treatment should be discontinued immediately and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Additionally, since it may decrease white blood cell or platelet counts, regular blood tests may be necessary. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so liver function tests should be conducted periodically, and if symptoms of jaundice appear, prompt notification is required. If skin hypersensitivity reactions such as hives, rash, or itching occur, treatment should be discontinued. This medication may cause neurological symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, or numbness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include dry mouth, constipation, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, belching, and altered taste. If liver enzyme levels rise, or if fever or rash occurs, treatment should be discontinued immediately and healthcare personnel notified. There may be hematological issues such as decreased platelet counts, decreased white blood cells, and changes in other blood cell counts, so monitoring symptoms is important. Other side effects may include breast pain, gynecomastia, galactorrhea, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue numbness, cough, shortness of breath, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, changes in kidney function, swelling, and a foreign body sensation in the throat. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, so it should be used cautiously only when necessary. It is advisable to avoid breastfeeding during treatment as the drug may be excreted in breast milk. Safety for children and newborns has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is needed when using it in these populations. Elderly individuals may have decreased physiological functions and should be more vigilant for gastrointestinal symptoms and other side effects.
