Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. It should not be administered to patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Patients with orthostatic hypotension, where blood pressure drops suddenly, may experience worsened symptoms and should not take this medication. Caution is needed for patients with severely impaired liver function, as drug concentration in the blood may increase. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use the drug cautiously, as blood concentration may rise. Elderly patients may have a risk of reduced kidney function, so treatment should start at a lower dose with careful observation of their condition. When taking other medications that lower blood pressure or certain drugs, there may be side effects due to interactions, and careful use is advised. In particular, patients using PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, antihypertensives, or alpha-1 blockers may have increased risk of side effects like orthostatic hypotension when using this medication together. During treatment with this drug, symptoms like dizziness, fainting, or loss of consciousness may occur, so these symptoms should be closely monitored. If symptoms like skin rash, itching, or hives occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Gastrointestinal side effects such as dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation may occur. Liver function abnormalities or jaundice symptoms may arise, so it is advisable to periodically check liver function. This drug may lower blood pressure, so care must be taken not to overdose, and dizziness due to blood pressure drops when standing should be considered. This drug is not a cure and if it is ineffective, alternative treatments should be considered. Caution is required when performing tasks that need concentration, such as driving or operating machinery, due to the risk of dizziness. This drug belongs to the alpha-1 blocker class, and rare side effects like priapism may arise, so if this condition persists, medical advice should be sought immediately. Pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children under 18 have not had established safety, so this medication is not used for them. Elderly patients should start at a low dose and monitor their condition carefully due to the possibility of reduced kidney function. This medication comes in capsule or extended-release tablet form, and should be taken whole without chewing or opening the capsule to ensure proper absorption; it should be taken as directed. The medication should be removed from the packaging for consumption, and stored out of reach of children. It is important to confirm the presence of prostate cancer before taking this medication, and patients with sulfa drug allergies should be cautious for potential allergic reactions. Patients undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform medical staff about possible complications during surgery.
