Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, are advised not to use this medication. Its safety has not been established for children under 12 years of age, and it should not be used in this population. If there is a burn area, it should be treated first before using this medication. Initial usage may lead to redness or peeling of the skin; in such cases, a moisturizer can be applied, or the frequency of use can be reduced. If severe skin irritation occurs, use should be discontinued immediately, and if the face or neck becomes red or swollen, consultation with a specialist is needed. If symptoms such as diarrhea or abdominal pain occur, there may be a possibility of pseudomembranous colitis; therefore, usage should be stopped immediately and medical advice sought. This medication acts only on the skin, but some ingredients may be absorbed into the body; thus, it should not be used excessively. During use, care should be taken to avoid contact with mucous membranes such as the mouth, eyes, lips, and damaged skin, and if contact occurs, it should be washed off immediately with water. This medication may discolor hair, fabrics, and furniture; hence, contact should be avoided. It may take about 4 to 6 weeks to see therapeutic effects, so consistent use is necessary. Due to the benzoyl peroxide ingredient, the skin may become more sensitive to sunlight, so direct sunlight exposure should be avoided, and sunscreen or protective clothing should be used when going out. When used with other acne treatments, skin irritation may increase, so it is advisable to consult a specialist. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid using this medication, and special caution is advised during pregnancy.
