Treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (including ankylosing spondylitis) and prevention of gastric ulcer risk
This medication is used for patients with a risk of gastric and duodenal ulcer associated with naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), when symptoms are not sufficiently controlled with low-dose naproxen or other NSAIDs. It primarily helps alleviate pain and inflammation associated with chronic inflammatory joint disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Therefore, it is used to effectively improve joint pain and inflammatory symptoms in these patients.
Administered orally at a dosage of 1 tablet (Naproxen 500mg/Esomeprazole 20mg) twice a day. This medication should be swallowed whole with water and not be split, chewed, or crushed. It is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals.
This medication may pose a risk of gastric bleeding if taken regularly by individuals who consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily; hence, consultation with a healthcare provider is essential. This medication can affect the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors need to be particularly cautious, and careful monitoring of cardiovascular symptoms is necessary during use. This medication may cause severe gastrointestinal side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations, so caution is needed, especially for elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders. If gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcer symptoms occur, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. This medication should not be administered to patients who are allergic to specific components or have asthma, active peptic ulcer disease, bleeding disorders, or severe liver, heart, or kidney disease. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood abnormalities, bleeding tendencies, liver or kidney dysfunction, hypertension, or asthma should take this medication with caution and report any unusual symptoms to healthcare providers immediately. Dizziness, fatigue, and drowsiness may occur during use; therefore, caution is required when driving or operating machinery. This medication should not be used in the late stages of pregnancy, and women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult healthcare providers. Long-term use requires regular blood tests and liver/kidney function tests, and if any abnormal symptoms occur, discontinuation and consultation with medical personnel are necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, inform your healthcare provider if you are taking other medications. This medication comes in a three-layer tablet form and should be swallowed whole with water; do not chew or crush it, and it is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before a meal. Keep out of reach of children and avoid transferring to other containers.
