This medication is used for the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers such as gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It is also effective for the relief of erosive or ulcerative symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and for long-term maintenance therapy. In patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori, it is administered in combination with antibiotics for treatment. It is also used for conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome associated with excessive gastric acid secretion. Overall, it is used for the improvement and treatment of various gastric-related diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers: Administer 10 mg orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg can be administered orally once daily. For gastric ulcers, treatment can last up to 8 weeks, and for duodenal ulcers, up to 6 weeks. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with specific allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to certain antibiotics. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication. This medication inhibits gastric acid secretion, and long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures and may lead to hypomagnesemia, necessitating regular blood tests. There may be a slight increase in the risk of gastrointestinal bacterial infection; if diarrhea persists, visit a hospital. This medication may cause drowsiness when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. It may interact with other medications, especially antibiotics, anticoagulants, and antivirals, so consult a professional when used in combination. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication due to unverified safety, and caution is required for the elderly due to an increased risk of adverse reactions due to decreased liver function. Safety has not been established in children, so it is advisable not to use it. In case of overdose, there are no specific antidotes; appropriate treatment should be received according to symptoms, and tablets should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing. When storing, keep it out of the reach of children and do not transfer to other containers. Long-term use of this medication may affect the absorption of vitamin B12; regular status checks are necessary.
