Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain relievers can carry the risk of gastrointestinal issues such as gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers. However, it is used for patients who do not receive adequate effects from low-dose naproxen or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to treat symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. This medication helps reduce inflammation and pain in the joints, improving the patient's daily life.
Adults: Take 1 tablet (Naproxen 500mg/Esomeprazole 20mg) orally, twice a day. This medication should be swallowed whole with water, without breaking, chewing, or crushing it. It is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals.
This medication should be discussed with a physician or pharmacist if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. The components of this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease; therefore, patients with heart conditions or risk factors should exercise caution. Serious gastrointestinal side effects may occur, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations; therefore, patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders or the elderly should use this medication with increased caution. Patients who have a history of allergic reactions to any components of this medication or conditions such as asthma, rhinitis, or hives should not take it. This medication should not be taken in cases of active peptic ulcers or bleeding diseases, severe liver dysfunction, kidney failure, congestive heart failure, or during late pregnancy. Particular care is needed for those with a history of peptic ulcers, blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney failure, asthma, hypertension, and the elderly when administering this medication. This medication can cause various adverse reactions; particularly, if symptoms such as skin rashes, breathing difficulties, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, or kidney impairment occur, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. Regular blood tests, liver function tests, and kidney function tests are required during long-term use of this medication, and administration may be suspended if any abnormal symptoms appear. Drowsiness or fatigue may occur during use, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform healthcare providers of any medications currently being taken. Pregnant individuals, especially during late pregnancy, should not take this medication, and those who are breastfeeding should avoid it as it may affect the baby through breast milk. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 have not been established; therefore, it is not recommended. This medication is a tri-layer tablet and should not be chewed or crushed; it should be swallowed whole with water, ideally 30 minutes before meals.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), cold sweat, severe allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, perforations, severe skin reactions (severe rash accompanied by fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes), shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver issues (jaundice), sudden and severe headache, lightning-like headache
