This medication is used for rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis. It also helps relieve fever and pain associated with colds, back pain, dysmenorrhea, and post-surgical pain. Additionally, it is effective for various painful conditions including ankylosing spondylitis, headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, acute gout, and psoriatic arthritis. It is used for soft tissue injuries or extra-articular rheumatic diseases and helps improve conditions like tendinitis, tenosynovitis, and bursitis. By alleviating various types of inflammation and pain, it can help make patients' daily lives more comfortable. Overall, it is used to treat multiple joint-related and pain-related conditions.

How to take

Adult dose

Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injuries, extra-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis: 200-600 mg per dose, taking 3-4 doses daily, with a maximum of 3200 mg daily. This medication can cause serious side effects, such as gastric bleeding, in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily, so it is imperative to consult a doctor or pharmacist. People with heart or vascular diseases or risk factors should be closely monitored when taking this medication long-term due to the increased risk of cardiovascular issues like myocardial infarction or stroke. This medication can cause serious adverse reactions such as gastric bleeding, ulcers, or perforations, especially in older adults or those taking it for extended periods. Persons with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, or with severe liver, kidney, or heart dysfunction should not take this medication, nor should individuals with allergies to any of its components. Do not exceed the recommended dosage and it is safest not to take it with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. If breastfeeding, this medication can be transferred to breast milk and may cause serious side effects in infants, therefore nursing should be discontinued or this medication should be stopped. Taking this medication with specific drugs (e.g., aspirin, anticoagulants, diuretics, lithium, etc.) may increase the risk of side effects, so consult your doctor. If serious allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, skin rashes, difficulty breathing, liver dysfunction, or kidney problems occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare personnel. It is advisable to take this medication for the shortest duration possible at the minimum effective dose, especially for the elderly or children, who should be closely monitored after administration. This medication should not be used in the late stages of pregnancy as it may pose risks to the fetus, and caution should be exercised in consultation with professionals during pregnancy. Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash accompanied by high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, or coma

Mild side effects

Headaches, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, thirst, stomatitis, abdominal bloating, oral ulcers, constipation, black stools, unexplained eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), hypotension, hypertension, palpitations, fatigue, fever, nosebleeds, edema, peripheral edema, dizziness, drowsiness, depression, hearing loss, tinnitus, taste disturbances, vertigo, drowsiness, purpura, itching, rash, eczema, diminished platelet function

Interactions

Drug interactions

This medication should not be taken by patients undergoing high-dose methotrexate chemotherapy. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking with low-dose aspirin, ACE inhibitors, lithium, furosemide and thiazide diuretics, low-dose methotrexate, coumarin anticoagulants (such as warfarin), or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

Storage

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a container that does not allow light to enter. Additionally, do not place the medication in excessively hot or cold environments; it is best stored at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
