Dosage

Instill 1-2 drops once a day. Adjust as appropriate according to symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with elevated intraocular pressure conditions such as primary glaucoma or closed-angle glaucoma. Patients allergic to the ingredients of this medication or to atropine should also not take it. This medication should not be administered to patients with myasthenia gravis, a disease causing muscle weakness, as it may worsen symptoms. Patients with secondary tachycardia due to heart failure should not use this medication. It is also safer not to administer this medication to patients with hyperthyroidism characterized by excessively activated thyroid function. Careful use is required in patients with corneal abnormalities such as keratoconus, patients with Down syndrome, children with brain injuries, elderly patients, infants and children, and in patients who may be exposed to fever or hot environments. While using this medication, psychiatric and neurological symptoms such as hallucinations or dizziness may rarely occur. Gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and dry mouth may also occur. Cardiovascular side effects such as increased blood pressure or rapid heartbeat, and vascular congestion may occur. There may be temporary pain or burning in the eyes, and with long-term use, symptoms like conjunctivitis, eye irritation, congestion, and increased sensitivity to light may develop. Skin-related side effects such as facial flushing, swelling, and eczematous dermatitis have also been reported. While the pupils are dilated, driving or engaging in hazardous tasks should be avoided, and eyes should be protected due to increased sensitivity to bright light. Care should be taken to prevent the medication from coming into contact with children or caregivers' hands, and hands must be washed thoroughly after applying the drops. To prevent excessive systemic absorption of the drug, it is recommended to apply pressure around the eyes with fingers for 2-3 minutes after instillation. It is necessary to check the anterior chamber depth of the eye to prevent the occurrence of closed-angle glaucoma. Caution is advised when using this medication with tricyclic antidepressants, phenothiazines, or antihistamines, as it may enhance the effects of this medication. During pregnancy, due to unclear effects on the fetus, this medication should be used only when necessary, and breastfeeding women should also use it cautiously as the drug may be excreted in breast milk. Particular caution is needed when using this medication in children. In case of overdose, symptoms such as delirium, agitation, and in severe cases, coma may occur, so immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. This medication is for ophthalmic use only and should not be used as an injection. When applying the drops, care should be taken not to let the tip of the container come into direct contact with the eye, and it is advisable not to share it with others to prevent contamination.
