How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers: Usually, 10 mg is orally administered once daily. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg may be administered orally once daily. It can be given for up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. Precautions

This drug should not be administered to certain patients. For instance, patients allergic to this drug or its components, or those with hypersensitivity to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics should not use it. Additionally, it should not be taken together with certain heart-related medications or antiviral drugs, and it is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication. Patients with poor liver function, elderly patients, or those with a history of drug allergies should use this medication cautiously. This medication contains a dye named Tartrazine, so caution is also required if allergic to this component. During treatment with this medication, hypersensitivity reactions such as rash and itching may occur, so if such symptoms arise, it is imperative to discontinue use immediately. Periodic blood tests are recommended as changes in red or white blood cell counts can occur. Liver function tests should also be conducted regularly, and if abnormalities appear, discontinuation is necessary. Various abnormal symptoms related to the heart, gastrointestinal issues, neurological symptoms, respiratory issues, muscle and joint pain, skin conditions, vision and hearing impairments, and urinary problems have been reported, so if any of these symptoms occur, consultation with a healthcare professional is advised. Long-term use of this medication may increase the risk of osteoporosis and fractures, and hypomagnesemia, a decrease in blood magnesium levels, can occur, making it necessary to regularly check magnesium levels. Moreover, this drug strongly suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infection in the stomach, so if diarrhea persists, it should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as drowsiness may occur, and interactions may arise when taken with other medications, therefore it is crucial to consult a physician or pharmacist. Particularly, caution is warranted when taken with antibiotics, antivirals, or warfarin. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid using this drug, and elderly patients may experience abnormal reactions more readily due to reduced liver function, thus they should use it with caution. Safety in children has not been established, so it is recommended not to use it. In case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment should be received according to symptoms, and the tablets should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing. Store in a tightly closed container to avoid contact with air or moisture, and keep out of reach of children and do not transfer them to other containers.
