How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

For mild to moderate infections, instill 1-2 drops into the infected area every 4 hours. For severe infections, instill 2 drops every hour until symptoms improve, and then gradually reduce. Adjust dosage as appropriate for age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with an allergy to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin. If symptoms such as eyelid itching, swelling, redness, or temporary burning sensation in the eyes occur, use should be discontinued. Care should be taken as irritation or pain in the eyes may occasionally occur. To prevent resistant bacteria, it is necessary to confirm the susceptibility of the infecting bacteria and use it only for the minimum necessary duration. It is recommended to have adequate consultations and skin reaction tests in advance to prevent severe allergic reactions. Prolonged use may lead to resistance, allowing other bacteria to proliferate excessively, in which case use should be discontinued and appropriate treatment sought. It is prudent not to use this medication with certain types of antibiotics. When used with other aminoglycoside medications, the serum concentration should be carefully monitored. Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment as it helps prevent the spread of infection. After instillation, temporary blurriness of vision may occur, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided until vision returns to normal. When this medication is used with anticoagulants, there may be an increased risk of bleeding, so regular checks on blood coagulation status are necessary, and drug dosages may need to be adjusted as needed. During pregnancy, use should be limited to essential cases, and in breastfeeding, it may harm the baby, so breastfeeding should be discontinued or the benefits and risks of this medication carefully considered. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as eye inflammation or swelling, increased tearing may occur, so serum drug levels should be monitored, and blood dialysis should be implemented if necessary. This medication should not be injected directly into the eye and should only be used as an eye drop. Some bacteria may have resistance to this medication in the country, so consulting a specialist for treatment efficacy is important.
