Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcer, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and prevention of gastric ulcers.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It also helps prevent recurrence of duodenal and peptic ulcers when combined with antibiotics for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. It is effective in treating symptoms such as pain, discomfort, and burning sensation in the upper gastrointestinal tract caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and is used in the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers related to these drugs. Additionally, it is used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding of gastric or duodenal ulcers after intravenous administration. Overall, it is widely used for the treatment of various symptoms and diseases related to gastrointestinal disorders.
This medication should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If not cured or if symptoms persist, an additional 4 weeks of usage is required. - Maintenance therapy for the prevention of recurrence of esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis: 1 dose once daily,
Adolescents aged over 12 years - Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist, an additional 4 weeks of usage is required. - Esophagitis
This medication should not be used by individuals with certain allergic reactions or those who have previously had allergies to this medication or similar ingredients. The side effects may worsen when taken with certain antibiotics or other medications, so it should not be combined without consulting a physician. Regular blood tests or other examinations should be conducted during the use of this medication, and special caution is required for long-term use. If unusual symptoms or severe side effects occur during administration, inform medical personnel immediately, and be cautious as severe allergic reactions or skin abnormalities may occur. This medication can reduce stomach acid, increasing the risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract, so if diarrhea or abdominal pain persists, consult medical personnel. In patients with osteoporosis or those on long-term use, the risk of fractures may increase, so it's advisable to regularly monitor bone health status. This medication can interact with other drugs, so inform medical personnel about all medications being taken, especially with anticoagulants, antiviral drugs, and antibiotics. If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a physician before using this medication, and breastfeeding individuals should avoid this medication for safety. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so immediate medical attention is required, and it should be kept out of the reach of children to prevent accidents.
