Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension with combination of amlodipine and valsartan
This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or valsartan.
The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Before administration, it is recommended to titrate the dose using individual components (amlodipine or valsartan) if blood pressure is not controlled, with the following dosages: • 5/80mg: For patients whose blood pressure is insufficiently controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5mg or valsartan 80mg.
Safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and its use is not recommended.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication is contraindicated in certain patients. For example, it should not be taken by individuals with allergies to its components or similar medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women, those with severe renal or liver disease, and patients with a history of certain heart diseases or vascular edema. Patients with a deficiency of sodium or fluids in the body should correct this condition before taking the medication, and blood pressure should be monitored closely during treatment. Caution is needed when this medication is used in conjunction with potassium-increasing medications for patients with high potassium levels, and regular monitoring of potassium levels is necessary. Patients with renal vascular stenosis or those who have received a kidney transplant should be monitored closely as this medication may affect renal function. If swelling of the face, lips, tongue, etc., occurs during the course of treatment, the medication should be stopped immediately, and healthcare personnel should be informed. For patients with heart failure or after myocardial infarction, meticulous monitoring of renal function and blood pressure is required, as symptoms of heart failure may worsen. The risk of hypotension, changes in renal function, hyperkalemia, and other issues may increase when this medication is used in combination with other antihypertensives or specific drugs; therefore, consultation with a physician is recommended. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery; hence, caution is necessary. In the event of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac issues may arise; therefore, the dosage must be strictly adhered to. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. Elderly patients are recommended similar dosages as adults, but caution may be necessary depending on individual conditions. Regular checks of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolyte levels should be performed while taking this medication to monitor for abnormalities. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as well as lactating women, should avoid using this medication and discontinue it immediately if pregnancy is confirmed during treatment.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress accompanying cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urinary issues

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It should be kept at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius, away from extreme cold or heat.
