Precautions

This medication is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing flurbiprofen, used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to flurbiprofen or similar medications. In particular, individuals with a specific type of asthma known as aspirin-induced asthma or a history of it may experience asthma attacks when taking this medication and should avoid it. Patients with bronchial asthma should be cautious when using this medication due to the risk of asthma attacks. Additionally, the medication contains propylene glycol, so those with allergies or hypersensitivity to this component should use it carefully. When using this medication, there may be skin reactions such as redness, rash, itching, or burning, and if these symptoms occur, use should be stopped immediately. Additionally, if early symptoms of an asthma attack, such as shortness of breath, wheezing, or difficulty breathing, appear, use of the medication should be stopped immediately and medical advice sought. This medication helps alleviate symptoms but is not a treatment for the underlying cause, so it is important to consider the causes of inflammation or pain as well. When used on inflamed areas accompanied by skin infection, it should be used with antibiotics or antifungals to avoid worsening the infection, and careful monitoring of the condition is necessary. When using this medication for chronic conditions such as degenerative arthritis, it is important to consider other treatment options in addition to medication and to monitor for side effects thoroughly. In the early and mid-stages of pregnancy, this medication should only be used under a physician's advice when necessary, and dosage and duration should be minimized. It should not be used in the late stages of pregnancy as it may harm the fetus's heart and kidneys and may cause issues during delivery. In children, this medication's safety has not been sufficiently confirmed, so its use is best avoided. Elderly patients should carefully observe the skin condition where the medication is applied due to the potential for skin to be more fragile and use it cautiously. This medication should not be applied to damaged skin or mucous membranes and should be avoided in areas with eczema or rash. It is advisable to thoroughly clean any sweat from the application site before use.
