Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, or who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions, should not use it. Additionally, patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics or macrolide antibiotics should not use this medication in combination therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. Patients taking certain cardiac-related medications or with a history of myocardial infarction, as well as nursing women, should not take this medication. Since this medication can cause various adverse reactions, if symptoms such as headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, skin rash, or muscle pain occur during use, consult a doctor immediately. Long-term use requires regular monitoring, such as blood tests or magnesium level checks, and extra caution is needed if taken for more than one year. This medication may increase the risk of bacterial infection in the gastrointestinal tract due to its acid-reducing effect, so patients should report to healthcare professionals if diarrhea persists or symptoms worsen. Additionally, long-term use may increase the risk of fractures, so patients at risk for osteoporosis may need monitoring, such as bone density tests. This medication has a high potential for drug interactions, so dosage adjustments or precautions are needed based on other medications being taken; therefore, all concurrent medications should be reported to healthcare professionals. Pregnant or nursing women should consult with a doctor about the use of this medication, and nursing mothers are advised to avoid taking this medication. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so individuals should go to a medical facility immediately for appropriate treatment and keep it out of reach of children.
