Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Serious allergic reactions such as shock may occur rarely during use, so if symptoms such as nausea, limb coldness, or difficulty breathing appear, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment sought. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema, difficulty breathing, rash, and itching may occur, necessitating immediate discontinuation of use upon such symptoms. Transient irritation, burning, or discomfort in the eyes may occur, and rare side effects such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, blurred vision, and photophobia may also arise. Caution is necessary as dizziness or auditory disturbances may occur during use. Post-use reactions such as burning and itching have been reported, particularly when used in the elderly or in conjunction with steroids, as there is an increased risk of tendon inflammation or rupture. To prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, this medication should only be used for the minimum necessary duration after confirming bacterial sensitivity. Long-term use should be avoided as it may lead to overgrowth of other organisms such as fungi. Its efficacy against infections by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is uncertain, so if symptoms do not improve, it is necessary to switch to another antibiotic. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, and breastfeeding mothers should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop the medication. Safety and efficacy in infants under 1 year have not been established, so it is advisable not to use it. This product must only be used as eye drops, taking care to avoid direct contact of the container opening with the eyes. To prevent contamination, avoid shared use, and store in a cool place away from direct sunlight, out of reach of children, and do not transfer to other containers.
