Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus, especially during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be administered to patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, or patients with severe liver or kidney disease. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with certain conditions such as electrolyte imbalance or dehydration, renal or liver dysfunction, or heart failure, and regular monitoring is required. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur during treatment, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially lithium preparations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and potassium-sparing diuretics, so consultation with a physician is necessary when taken together. The hydrochlorothiazide component may cause sensitivity to sunlight, so it is important to reduce UV exposure and take care of skin protection during treatment. If severe allergic reactions, angioedema, hepatitis, renal failure, or other symptoms occur, medical personnel should be notified immediately. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to avoid this medication, and particularly if planning to become pregnant or already pregnant, consultation with a physician is essential. Safety in children has not been established, so it is generally not recommended for use in pediatric patients. Older adults may not experience a significant difference in effectiveness or side effects, but caution should be exercised considering renal function decline or other health conditions.
