This medication is used to improve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, such as acid reflux and heartburn. It is particularly effective for indigestion caused by the reflux of gastric contents during or after meals and during pregnancy, as well as in cases associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease. It helps alleviate these symptoms, allowing patients to have a more comfortable daily life.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children over 12 years old: Take 10 to 20 mL per dose, 4 times a day (after meals and before bedtime).

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by anyone allergic to it or its ingredients. Patients who need to limit sodium intake, such as those with congestive heart failure or kidney dysfunction, should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it contains sodium. Patients with hypercalcemia, diseases causing calcium accumulation in the kidneys, and recurrent calcium kidney stones should also consult a healthcare professional before use, as this medication contains calcium carbonate. Children under 12 years old should preferably not take this medication without special instructions from a doctor. If itching, shortness of breath, or allergic reactions occur during the use of this medication, it should be stopped immediately, and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Also, taking more than the recommended dose may lead to side effects such as alkalosis, hypercalcemia, milk-alkali syndrome, and constipation, so caution is advised. If symptoms do not improve after taking the medication for more than 7 days, a healthcare professional should be consulted. In case of overdose, it is necessary to visit the hospital promptly for appropriate treatment, as some patients may experience abdominal bloating. This medication contains calcium carbonate and can interact with other drugs, so it is advisable to space taking it at least 2 hours apart from other medications. Women who are pregnant have not reported special adverse reactions to this medication for themselves, their fetus, or newborn; however, it is safest to consult a doctor before use. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container tightly closed. Once opened, it should be used within 6 months, and transferring it to another container may degrade the quality of the medication, so caution is advised.
