Precautions

This medicine contains an ingredient called alpha-lipoic acid, which may cause certain allergic reactions; therefore, individuals with hypersensitivity to this ingredient or the excipients should not take it. Additionally, the safety and effectiveness of this medicine have not been sufficiently confirmed in children and adolescents; therefore, it should not be used in this age group. During treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as occasional nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur, and allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching may rarely occur. This medicine may lower blood sugar, which can lead to hypoglycemic symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, headache, and visual disturbances, so caution is needed. Moreover, it may cause alterations in taste perception, so if there are any unusual symptoms, a consultation with a doctor is advisable. Patients who frequently consume alcohol may be at risk of exacerbating nerve damage, and it may diminish the effect of this medicine, so avoiding alcohol is recommended. This medicine may lose effectiveness if taken with certain anticancer drugs, so it is essential to consult with healthcare professionals regarding any co-administered medications. When taken simultaneously with preparations containing iron, magnesium, calcium, or milk, the absorption of the medication may be impaired, so it is recommended to take this medicine 30 minutes before meals, and to take iron or magnesium preparations separately with meals. Diabetic patients should frequently check their blood sugar levels as this medication may enhance the blood sugar-lowering effect; if hypoglycemic symptoms occur, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. Women who are pregnant or nursing should only take this medicine under medical advice since its safety is not fully established. In cases of overdose, severe toxicity symptoms may occur, and immediate hospital attention is required for appropriate treatment; emergency measures such as inducing vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary. This medicine should not be stored in high temperatures above 30 degrees and should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children; transferring to other containers could impair the quality of the medicine.
