Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastritis (antacid effect, symptom improvement)
This medication assists in the treatment of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum and improves uncomfortable symptoms caused by gastritis and excess stomach acid. It is also used to alleviate symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching. By exerting an antacid effect it helps to regulate the acidity in the stomach, protecting the gastric mucosa and improving symptoms.
The adult dose of Almagate is to administer 1 g three times a day, chewing it and taking it orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose may be taken at bedtime if necessary.
Children aged 12 years and over should take the same dosage as adults.
This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients. Patients with Alzheimer’s disease or hemorrhoids should also avoid this medication. Patients with fluid retention, edema, preeclampsia, severe diarrhea, and unexplained bleeding in the digestive tract should avoid this medication. This medication contains lactose, and individuals with genetic disorders that inhibit lactose digestion should not take it. During treatment, this medication should not be taken with tetracycline antibiotics. Individuals on other medications should consult their doctor or pharmacist, as this medication may affect the absorption or excretion of other drugs. In particular, it is advisable to take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer treatments, digitalis, and iron supplements at intervals of 2–3 hours. Patients with impaired kidney function are advised not to use this medication due to the risk of magnesium or aluminum accumulation. Those who are frail or have a phosphorus-deficient diet, or who have difficulty with digestion and absorption, should be cautious, as prolonged use may impact bone health. Elderly patients and those experiencing gastrointestinal bleeding symptoms, as well as pregnant or potentially pregnant or breastfeeding women, should consult a specialist before use. If constipation or diarrhea occurs, or if symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks of use, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. This medication must be used according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and should be administered to children under the supervision of a guardian. Store out of reach of children, in the original container, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place.

Do not take this medication with tetracycline antibiotics. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if taken with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer treatment medications, digitalis preparations, chlorpromazine, lansoprazole, prednisolone, penicillin, quinolone, iron (Fe) supplements, and salicylates.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture from entering, and it is best kept at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C. Proper storage will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a long time.
