This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It particularly reduces the risk of various heart-related diseases, including myocardial infarction, stroke, complications after vascular interventions, and angina pectoris. In patients with hyperlipidemia, it lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels while increasing good cholesterol (HDL), thereby improving vascular health. It is safe to use in pediatric patients aged 10 years and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia to help manage lipid levels in the blood. Overall, this drug is used to protect heart and vascular health and prevent the progression of related diseases.
