This medication is effectively used for inflammatory diseases that can occur in various parts of the eye, such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, and scleritis, which are inflammation of the eyelids. It also helps with deeper intraocular inflammation such as iritis and iridocyclitis, as well as uveitis. It alleviates inflammation that occurs after surgery, aiding in the recovery of eye health. It is used for the treatment of these various eye inflammatory diseases.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1-2 drops 2-4 times a day. Adjust as necessary based on symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral conjunctivitis or fungal eye diseases, or with mycobacterial infections. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with chronic blepharitis or those who are hypersensitive to this medication. It is generally not to be used in patients with damage to the corneal epithelium or corneal ulcers, those with tuberculous or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years old, but if absolutely necessary, it should be administered with utmost caution. Long-term use of this medication may cause increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, so regular eye pressure checks are needed. Additionally, infections such as herpes keratitis, fungal keratitis, and Pseudomonas infections may arise, so immediate treatment is required if any abnormal symptoms occur. Prolonged use may also increase the risk of cataracts or secondary ocular infections. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, the use should be stopped, and a doctor should be consulted. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses before instilling this medication and can reinsert them at least 30 minutes afterward. Instillation may temporarily blur vision, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery. Serious issues can arise if chickenpox or measles occur during the use of this medication, so it is essential to verify medical history and vaccination status and seek medical attention immediately if infection is suspected. Also, the risk of systemic side effects may increase when used in conjunction with certain medications, so it is essential to inform the doctor and proceed with caution. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised not to use this medication for prolonged periods, and if it is unavoidable, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
