Treatment of inflammatory diseases of the external eye and anterior segment (blepharitis, conjunctivitis, etc.)
This medication is effectively used for various inflammatory conditions of the external eye and anterior segment, including blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids), conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, episcleritis, iritis, cyclitis, and uveitis. It is also helpful in reducing inflammation that may occur after eye surgery. These medications play an important role in maintaining eye health by reducing inflammation and improving symptoms. Therefore, this medication is used for the treatment of a wide range of ophthalmic inflammatory diseases.
Instill 1-2 drops at a time, 2-4 times a day. Adjust dosage appropriately depending on symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratoconjunctival diseases, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication should not be administered this medication. Careful use is required in patients with corneal epithelium damage or ulcers, patients with tuberculous or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years of age. Long-term use of this medication may increase intraocular pressure, leading to glaucoma; therefore, regular ocular pressure checks are necessary. There is a risk of infection in the eye, such as herpetic keratitis or fungal infections, so immediate treatment is needed if symptoms of infection occur. Long-term use may lead to the development of cataracts and can suppress immune function, increasing the risk of secondary infections. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in the case of acute purulent eye infections, as it may mask or worsen the infection. The phosphate component contained in this medication may cause calcification in the cornea in rare cases of severe corneal damage, so caution is required. Patients undergoing cataract surgery should be careful as wound healing may be delayed and blisters may occur. Long-term use may suppress adrenal function, so it is advisable to consult with healthcare professionals. If infected with chickenpox or measles during treatment, serious problems may arise; therefore, it is important to check past medical history and vaccination status and to take care to prevent infections. Using this medication without a doctor's diagnosis in the case of red eyes may severely deteriorate vision, so it is essential to follow the prescription of a specialist. When wearing contact lenses, remove them before instillation and reinsert them at least 30 minutes afterward. Vision may become temporarily blurred after instillation; therefore, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Long-term use of this medication or use in conjunction with CYP3A4 inhibitors may result in systemic side effects, so caution is necessary. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid long-term or frequent use, and breastfeeding mothers should avoid use if possible; if necessary, they should stop breastfeeding. Children and elderly patients require special caution as the safety of this medication has not been established. This medication is for ocular use only, and care must be taken to ensure the tip of the container does not come into direct contact with the eyes. Before use, shake well and it is advisable not to share with others to prevent contamination. Store in a tightly sealed container, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool place for quality maintenance. Do not transfer to another container to maintain quality.
