Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of depression; however, it may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or self-harm, so patients should be closely monitored for several weeks after treatment initiation. Particular caution is required for patients with a history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts. It should not be administered to children under 15 years of age, patients with certain genetic disorders, or those taking specific medications. During the use of this medication, various side effects such as reduced appetite, nightmares, insomnia, dizziness, and palpitations may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. If undergoing surgery or general anesthesia, it is important to inform the medical staff about the use of this medication in advance, and it may be temporarily discontinued if necessary. Additionally, alcohol consumption should be avoided during the use of this medication, and sudden discontinuation may cause withdrawal symptoms, so dosage should be gradually reduced according to the physician's instructions. Caution is advised as drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur when operating machinery or driving. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function may require dosage adjustment, and regular testing is important due to the risk of electrolyte imbalances such as hyponatremia.
