Improvement of symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (ankylosing spondylitis) and suppression of the risk of gastric ulcers
This medication is used in patients with a risk of gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as naproxen) when symptom control with low-dose naproxen or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is insufficient. This medicine helps relieve pain and inflammatory symptoms of chronic inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Patients should be aware of the potential side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding while taking the medication, and it is important to use it with appropriate protective measures if necessary. This medication effectively improves the symptoms of these diseases, assisting patients in their daily lives.
Adults: Take 1 tablet (500 mg naproxen / 20 mg esomeprazole) orally twice a day. This medication should be swallowed whole with water and not crushed, chewed, or split. It is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals.
This medication should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day, as there is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when taken with alcohol. This medication may affect the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Those with cardiovascular disease or risk factors should take extra caution, and if any cardiovascular symptoms occur while taking this medication, medical attention should be sought immediately. Additionally, this medication can put stress on the gastrointestinal system, potentially leading to serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastric bleeding, ulcers, or perforation. This risk is greater in older individuals or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, so gastrointestinal symptoms should be closely monitored while taking this medication. This medication consists of naproxen and esomeprazole, and individuals with allergies to these components or those with asthma, peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney impairment, or severe heart failure should not take it. It should be used at the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration possible, and those taking it long-term should undergo regular blood tests, liver function tests, and kidney function tests. This medication may affect blood coagulation, so individuals with bleeding tendencies or those taking anticoagulants should exercise caution. If allergic reactions such as skin rash, hives, or difficulty breathing occur, or if serious skin adverse reactions develop, usage should be stopped immediately and consultation with healthcare professionals is advised. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the late stages, as it may pose risks to the fetus, and nursing mothers should also avoid it. Elderly patients are at a higher risk of adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, so they should take it at the minimum dosage with caution. Furthermore, this medication may cause drowsiness or fatigue, requiring caution when driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist about any medications currently being taken. Lastly, this medication must be taken with water and should not be crushed, chewed, or split; it is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals.
