This medication is used to improve symptoms of acid reflux, heartburn, and indigestion caused by gastroesophageal reflux. It is particularly effective after meals, during pregnancy, and when accompanied by gastroesophageal reflux disease. Therefore, it helps alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children aged 12 years or older: Take 10 to 20 mL four times a day (after meals and before bedtime).

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by anyone with a known allergy to this medication or any of its components. Patients with congestive heart failure or renal impairment, who need to limit sodium intake, must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication as it contains sodium. Additionally, patients with hypercalcemia, calcium deposition in the kidneys, or recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones should discuss with a healthcare professional before using this medication. Children under 12 years old are generally advised not to take this medication unless specifically directed by a doctor. If symptoms such as itching, bronchospasm, or severe allergic reactions occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Excessive calcium carbonate intake may lead to side effects such as alkalosis, hypercalcemia, milk-alkali syndrome, and constipation, so recommended dosages should be adhered to. If symptoms do not improve after taking for more than 7 days, consult a doctor or pharmacist. In cases of overdose, seek treatment at a hospital immediately, as some patients may experience abdominal bloating. This medication contains calcium carbonate and may interact with other medications, so it is advisable to take it with at least a 2-hour interval from other drugs. Pregnant women can use this medication; however, no adverse effects on the fetus or newborn have been reported. This medication contains saccharin as a sweetener, which has shown carcinogenic potential in animal studies, so long-term high-dose use should be avoided. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it sealed in its original container to maintain quality. After opening, use it within 6 months.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a container that effectively blocks light and air, at a temperature between 1°C and 30°C at room temperature. It should not be stored in the refrigerator.
